Hi, my name is Mark Graham, I am an independent kitchen Designer in Auckland, New Zealand and I have been using MacDraft now since 1995. Since coming to New Zealand from the UK in 2006, I have continued to use MacDraft for all my kitchen and bathroom designs as it gives me the flexibility that other CAD software don't seem to have, (and I have tried most of them). In 2009 I started my own kitchen company and became the agent for Composit kitchens Italy. In my day to day business, I design kitchens for my customers and import them from Italy. When we are not able to use a Composit kitchen, I will design the kitchen myself and have it made right here in New Zealand, MacDraft gives me this flexibility. MacDraft allows me to be more productive and creative in my design process, thanks most parts to having the ability of importing images/photos into my design, which really brings the drawings to life.
How do I work with MacDraft?
When designing a new kitchen for my clients I have my own library of kitchen cabinets etc drawn up in MacDraft. When you start designing a kitchen you inevitably end up using the same components over and over again, like units, doors, windows, taps, bar stools and accessories. With the flexibility of MacDraft its easy to use your own libraries to create all the different components needed to plan a successful kitchen drawing. The flexibility of the library items can be effortlessly copied and pasted into any design in seconds. MacDraft is intuitively designed for speed, which lets me get on with designing floor plans and elevations with ease.
Client Presentation:
What I most like about MacDraft is although you design in 2D, you also have the option of creating a 3D design using Interiors Pro, also from Microspot. Sometimes my clients are not able to understand the kitchen design in a 2D view, which is not a problem as many people don't. Having the ability to convert my plans to 3D is a bonus and my clients really appreciate this form of presentation.
MacDraft just works with you:
MacDraft is a very well priced CAD software and you can draw basic or complicated designs, its entirely up to you, it works with you. What I also like about MacDraft is that you do really feel like you are drawing on paper. With its easy to use tools menu, you can layout a drawing in no time. if you are a small business like myself, MacDraft is the software to consider. With most of the other software programs on the market costing an arm and a leg, MacDraft delivers on cost, ease of use and productivity.
